You may have heard tinnitus or ringing in the ears is very difficult to treat, even though there are many different tinnitus remedies. This is true to some extent for two main reasons.

Firstly, tinnitus is not a disease but a symptom, this sometimes makes it hard to diagnose the root of the problem. Secondly, there are a lot causes for tinnitus. In fact, there is still no one cause and consequently, there is no one cure for your tinnitus. There is a lot that can be done to fix the tinnitus in some people.

The most common causes for tinnitus are; exposure to excessive loudness, ear or sinus infections, caused by anxiety or stress, or a side-effect from taking certain medication, the most common of which being aspirin. Long-term sufferers of tinnitus sometimes have more than one problem which triggers tinnitus.

Despite this, many of the things that are causing the tinnitus are easily treatable so don’t despair. If you want to stop the ringing in your ears the first thing you should do is consult your doctor. As I said before, many things such as wax build-up due to sinus problems, nose allergies are easily remedied and can stop the ringing in your ears.

If you see your doctor he or she will be able to cure your tinnitus if it is caused by a build up of wax caused by sinus problems or nose allergies. If your tinnitus is due to an ear infection it should just gradually lessen before it eventually disappear with the infection.

Some medication, most commonly aspirin and some antibiotics can trigger tinnitus. If you are taking medication that has tinnitus as a side-effect, you should consult your doctor which will advise you of the best course of action to stop the ringing in your ears.

If your tinnitus is due to hearing loss, then that will not be as easily fixed. Your will doctor will assess the damage and advise the best course of action for you to take and the causes for tinnitus. It may be that he cannot do very much to help you stop the ringing in your ears and cure your tinnitus. The most important thing you can then do is protect your ears from further damage and try out the many home tinnitus remedies you can find on the Internet. You could find the right tinnitus remedy which could quieten or even cure your tinnitus.

One of the most popular tinnitus remedies is white noise therapy, which involves masking the ringing in your ears by turning on a fan or something with a constant noise to help the tinnitus sufferer forget about the ringing in their ears.

What is the Best Treatment For Tinnitus?

July 8th, 2010Posted by Tinnitus Cure

What is the best tinnitus treatment? That reminds me of the old proverb of asking the seven blind men to describe an elephant. Unfortunately, there is no straightforward answer to that question other than “it depends who you ask”.

Your doctor he might tell there’s nothing you can do or prescribe drugs or surgery. If you go to a homeopath, he’ll tell you which tinnitus homeopathic remedies he thinks are best. An acupuncturist will tell you acupuncture, plus perhaps, some tinnitus herbal remedy works best. And of course, if you ask anyone who has gotten tinnitus relief from, let’s say, cranio-sacral therapy, they naturally will say that is the tinnitus cure!

Here are some tinnitus remedies suggested by the ATA (American Tinnitus Association). Mind you, they state outright that none of these are a tinnitus cure. Their stance is that their currently is no tinnitus cure, only management of tinnitus symptoms.

Here are some natural tinnitus treatments. Supplements that have been shown to help tinnitus are minerals such as magnesium or zinc, herbs – especially Ginkgo biloba, homeopathic remedies, and B vitamins. Some people have experienced tinnitus relief with acupuncture, therapeutic massage, magnets, or hypnosis. All of these treatments carry virtually no risk and might improve your overall health

Next are some techniques that don’t stop tinnitus but can help you live with it. Biofeedback is a relaxation technique that teaches people to control their pulse and muscle tension. Cognitive therapy treats your emotional reaction to tinnitus not the tinnitus itself. It is most effective when used with other tinnitus treatments.

Sound masking can be used as a tinnitus therapy. This can be in the form of a wearable hearing aid-like device or as as table-top sound machines. You can play background noise CD’s that sound like the waves or a summer rain.

Tinnitus can be caused by temporormandibular joint disorder, commonly referred to as TMJ. If you have jaw pain or tension see your dentist. See if he can treat your TMJ or refer you to a TMJ specialist who can. Sometimes working on realigning your jaw could be the tinnitus cure you are looking for.

There is no drug that has been designed to treat tinnitus. Medications that have brought some people tinnitus relief include anti-anxiety, antidepressants, antihistamines, and anticonvulsants. That’s a lot of “anti’s”. But hoping for tinnitus healing with drugs so far is a needle in the haystack. And ironically some of these drugs have also been found to cause tinnitus! So proceed with caution.

Quietus For Tinnitus – The Truth?

July 8th, 2010Posted by Tinnitus Cure

About six percent of the general population has what they consider to be “severe” tinnitus, this is a lot of people and most of them are seeking for a cure. The only problem is there are many remedies out there that simply do not work. This is when the hope of many tinnitus sufferers went up as they heard about Quietus Tinnitus in radio or TV advertisements, so does this medication really work?

The homeopathic medication Quietus which consists of ear drops and tablets is advertised as a new discovery and claims to eliminate and provide relief from the ringing in the ears as well as reducing the pain in the ear. It all sounds very promising as it is introduced as a natural and safe way to heal the ear, unlike having a surgery which may have risks. The website of Quietus clearly identifies who is at risk for getting tinnitus, like individuals that work in a loud environment and as they reach older.

The site also provides a list of reviews and videos of people that have tried the remedy and apparently with success of eliminating the tinnitus. It all sound too good to be true, take a pill and your tinnitus is gone? Even doctors claim there is no cure out there yet for tinnitus, besides taking risky surgeries. Also as a fact 95% of the people who use conventional treatments such as drugs, habituation or surgeries may lower the ear ringing volume temporarily but most often would end up worse than when they started.

Now to the point if it is a scam or not there is a reasonable large audience out there that claim to have used the product and that it did not work, with even chemists claiming to have found nothing but sugars in the pill. It could simply be another false remedy to create profits as many people who have tinnitus will try anything to get rid of it, relaying on a placebo effect. The problem with the remedy like Quietus is that it can stay on the market until they are proven to be unsafe, they can just wait and see what happens to the users.

The price tag for the medication is also one of the highest I have ever seen in the market of tinnitus remedies, $99.95 for one bottle. I really find it too expensive as I myself have had severe tinnitus in the past due to loud noise exposure and have tried several homeopathic medications which simply did not work. Only until I came across a remedy called Tinnitus Miracle, it may sound cheesy but it has reduced the ringing in my ear by about 70%. No drugs or surgery involved, just a straight forward method. I highly recommend you check it out before trying any other remedy.

Ringing in the Ears? The Main Cause of Tinnitus Explained Here

July 8th, 2010Posted by Tinnitus Cure

The ringing in the ears or head, known as tinnitus, is a very common complaint. It is also very unique to each person. Different people hear different noises and these noises have varying degrees of loudness depending on the listener. They can also be heard continuously or come and go. Some people can only hear the ringing in their ears when it is quiet and others can hear it over other noises. There are a lot of things which can be the cause of tinnitus.

About 50 million Americans alone have experienced some degree of tinnitus at one time or another. This varies in length and severity. Some people will have temporary tinnitus after going to a concert. The ringing in the ears affects different people in different ways, while some people barely notice, others may be going crazy trying to stop the ringing in the ears.

The main cause of tinnitus as you may already know is due to exposure to loud noises. It has happened to me maybe a few too many times now, but you too may have noticed after a concert that your ears start ringing. This is just temporary and your ears soon go back to normal. Hearing loss and tinnitus is more likely to occur after exposure to moderate levels of noise over a prolonged period of time.

This explains why people in the music or construction professions often complain of tinnitus during their career. Musicians spend all day recording with headphones on or playing next to huge, extremely loud speakers. Likewise, construction workers are exposed to loud machinery noises such as hammering, drilling and cutting, which is a big cause of tinnitus.

Think back to when you regularly spent time exposed to loud noises. Go to a lot of raves when you were younger? If so, that is probably the reason behind the ringing in the ears.

Unfortunately, treating tinnitus due to hearing loss is a little more tricky because it the cause of tinnitus is not always known. Your doctor may not be able to help you cure your tinnitus but there are a few things you can do to help fix your tinnitus. If you really want to fix your tinnitus, you must protect your ears from further damage which will only make your tinnitus worse! This means not playing your iPod too loudly into your ears and you should even consider not using headphones. If you work on a construction site or do noisy work make sure you wear proper ear protection.

There are a lot of home tinnitus remedies many of which you can find on the Internet. Not all of the tinnitus remedies will work but it is important to remember that what cures the tinnitus of one person will not necessarily cure the tinnitus of the next person. You will have to try the different tinnitus remedies out and see if you can find a tinnitus cure that works for you. It could be this tinnitus remedy will just quieten the ringing in the ears not eliminate it.

A to Z Natural Tinnitus Treatments

July 8th, 2010Posted by Tinnitus Cure

Although it is widely accepted amongst the medical establishment that there is no actual tinnitus cure, thousands of tinnitus sufferers have either gotten either some or total tinnitus relief with these natural tinnitus remedies. Here are some of the more popular ones, A to Z.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture has been practiced in China for over 4,000 years so is hardly a new tinnitus treatment. Practitioners of acupuncture would say that tinnitus is an imbalance between yin and yang and that through acupuncture the balance could be restored. Acupuncture has been gaining in popularity in the US to the point where it is hardly considered unusual any more.

Aromatherapy
There are four essential oils that can stimulate circulation and are believed to help tinnitus. These are rosemary, cypress, lemon, and rose. They can be administered by massage, or with a vaporizer or aromatherapy diffuser. Get the best quality, organic essential oils you can find since they aren’t very expensive and go a very long way.

Herbs
There are many tinnitus herbal treatments that promote tinnitus healing, but here are three of the most popular ones.

Ginkgo leaf extract is widely prescribed by holistic healers as a treatment for tinnitus as well as some of the other symptoms that can accompany it, such as dizziness, mental confusion, and headache.

Black cohosh is used as a natural tinnitus remedy especially for congestion or pressure in the head.

Hawthorn as a remedy for tinnitus since it is considered a tonic for the circulatory system.

Melatonin, while not actually an herb, is a natural supplement that can help you can asleep when your tinnitus is keeping you awake.

Homeopathy
Some tinnitus homeopathic remedies found to help tinnitus include calcarea carbonica, carbo vegetabilis, cinchona officinalis, cimicifuga, graphites, and kali carbonicum.

Relaxation Therapies
Since there is a strong correlation between stress and tinnitus, relaxation is essential. These include meditation, yoga, cranial sacral work, and biofeedback.

Sound Therapy
Sound therapy is used as a way to hide the sounds in your ears. These include white noise machines or CD’s of background sounds. Sound of nature, such as ocean waves, rain, or sounds of a summer evening are most relaxing but I’ve heard of CD’s of lawn mowers and vacuum cleaners! Just make sure whatever you listen to, you listen quietly. Especially if you are using headphones.

Vitamins
Several vitamins have been found to bring tinnitus relief. Vitamins A and C (and their associated bioflavonoids) can help tinnitus by improving circulation. Vitamins E and B complex have been found helpful in treating tinnitus.

Zinc
A common deficiency found in many people with tinnitus is lack of zinc. Some studies have found that zinc can help with tinnitus healing. This is especially common amongst the elderlyly. Lack of zinc can also affect their ability to smell and taste.

Health Problems– Need Help?

I’ve had a ringing in my ears for about a year now and yesterday when I was eating there was a pop in my jaw and now I hear the pop in my right jaw whenever I open my mouth and a pain in my left side right under my ear when I swallow. What could this be?
Secondly, I’ve had trouble rotating my arm all the way around. I have to really force it and it hurts when I raise my arm straight up.
Finally, I’ve had a pain in my hip for about two years now. It only happens when I sit for a while and then stand up. It is a really sharp, stabbing type pain and I immediately have to sit down.
Thanks!
